Saturday Sky, Friday Frost.

Today is grey and flurry-ish. Tiny bits of snowflakes flying around adding a dusty look to everything outdoors. I think Winter may actually stick around this time. The temps are starting to drop off at night and not get all that great during the day. Ah, well. More time inside where it is warm and yarny.

Some frost pictures taken yesterday for your enjoyment. I love the contrasting looks to them. The sky looks so warm and summery and the trees, not so much.

There are two craft fairs going on today so I am going to have a good day. The Fair Trade Craft Fair at the United Church and the Christmas Craft Fair at the Rec Centre. I'm hoping I can find some little shawl pins or some pins with nice long clasps to use for my Jabot Scarves. I hope to have the pattern for that up by the end of the week. No worries, if you want to add one to your Christmas knitting list, it's super fast and super easy. Go grab some lace weight mohair/silk blend yarn (1 ball divided in half or two balls) and a pretty little pin. Those balls I got have 170m/186yds in them and I will for sure get two scarves maybe even three.

I won't be posting tomorrow as the Festival of Carols (my choir) is happening and since there are two shows (2:30p.m. and 7:30p.m.) I am going to be crazy really busy. Have a great weekend!

  • Love all the blue skies! I've been on the hunt for a shawl pin this year, too.

Good luck tomorrow with the choir! I'm sure it will be beautiful! :0)

  • I'm thinking of getting a shawl pin also. But since it's for myself, it can wait until after Christmas.

Snow looks pretty but I'm very happy we don't have any yet! Have fun at the concert.

and did you know that brooches over here can get onto planes, but not knitting needles or blunt craft needles? i wonder if your jabot pins could. if so... hm... you could smuggle crafts on board long flights. hm...

have fun at the craft fairs. see you after the 'thon.

  • I wish we had craft fairs but I supposed people here are too busy with video poker.

  • Your pictures are truly awesome, what a winter wonderland! I think people here would get very jealous to see that, they're already nervous as hell because we don't have an inch of snow yet and there's nothing to be seen on the horizon either. Hm - seeing your pics I'd say it's really highest time we'd get a bit of it too, this time of year just has to have at least a bit of snow!
