New things.
Not only am I learning a ton of new things at work (going very well so far, thank you). I am learning new things with the knitting. Crocheted provisional cast on! Also snow. It is snowing again today and yesterday there was a thin layer of ice on the creek that feeds a local lake. I did not get a picture since it isn't a good idea to stop dead on a bridge, jump out of your car and start taking pictures. People behind you tend to get a little touchy about stuff like that.
I am working on a hat for my nephew for Christmas. He got a pretty crappy present from us last year (it would have been good if he owned a guitar like we were led to believe he did) so this year he is getting what every teenage boy wants from his aunt. A knit hat.
Apollo says thanks for all the well wishes. He is getting there and hopefully when we cobble together a little cash (having our dollar at parity hasn't brought down any prices on food and gas) we will be taking him in to the vet again to switch his medications which should help the disease management more and prevent another crisis if he gets a flu bug or has stomach issues again.

Other drivers are picky aren't they?
The whole monetary sytem is beyond me but I can't help but wonder why are increased dollar power doesn't bring down other prices...Especially magazines or books when they have the US and the Canadian prices right on the covers and our dollar is worth more...Kind of infuriating in the case of $8 knitting magazines.
Apollo is a very beautiful dog. That is a great pic of him - you have captured something of his person in this pic!
